We are proud to report that donations have been tallied and our first Beauty for Real™ event was a success!
Good Earth Compounding Pharmacy
On Saturday February 16, Dr. Tanya Kormeili and Great Earth Compounding Pharmacy of West Hollywood hosted Beauty for Real™ a unique fundraiser that aimed to have people show their beauty from the inside out. Attendees could obtain a number of cosmetic services – at a one-time discount, with proceeds going to Real Medicine – from Dr. Kormeili, a popular LA dermatologist (who has been seen on The Doctors and in media worldwide).
Beauty for Real™ is part of our efforts to make philanthropy part of people’s everyday lives. It’s the newest in a series of events we’re doing (Run for Real™, Walk for Real™, Food for Real™ — and a new one we’re about to announce!)

Long Beach, CA | May 15, 2012 — Tickets are selling quickly for the tenth installment of the famed “DioNicEss” food & drink pairing series, which is coming to Long Beach’s celebrated Beachwood BBQ & Brewing on June 10. To immortalize this milestone, the theme of this dinner has been dubbed “DioNicEss X: Coming of Age,” not only as a reflective look at the progression of the previous nine events, but also a play on the fact that every course, as well as each beer paired with it, will have undergone some sort of careful aging.

To all our Fantastic Athletes for Real Medicine Runners….Fantastic race this weekend! You did it! After months of hard training and dedication you completed the 2012 LA Honda Marathon and 5K. Your efforts and hard work also contributed to a very successful fundraiser and we are very grateful for your support in helping us reach our fundraising goal. We are still counting donations but it looks like we might have over $20,000 from Athletes for Real Medicine donors/sponsors!
I’ve had a great time and it has been a pleasure and honor working with you, and I can’t wait to do it all over again!

The weekly training sessions led by Olympic runner Malachi Davis at UCLA’s Drake Track continue for Athletes for Real Medicine Foundation. As these photos (taken by writer/photographer Joe Roos) show, we Athletes for RMF are a motley crew of various ages, shapes and sizes, but this is no matter to Malachi and his talented team! From core training to stretching and building strength leaping tall bleachers in a succession of single bounds, Malachi is getting each participant in the shape he or she needs to be in for a successful race day!

Photos from our Holiday Party for kids in South Los Angeles
Real Medicine Foundation and the Florence Western Medical Clinic in South Los Angeles hosted its 4th Annual Children’s Holiday Party on December 17, 2011. Each year, RMF provides toys, sports equipment, books and grocery cards for holiday dinners to meet the needs of these often-overlooked families.
